Meredith Halas-Manager

• Oakwood Farm's barn manager Meredith Halas graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Science.  She was the teacher's assistant for two years for the upper level Equine Management classes. As Assistant Manager of the University Horse center for two years she managed broodmares, weanlings, young stock, stallions, and riding horses.  Meredith has delivered over twelve foals and was responsible for breeding the university broodmares via live cover as well as artificial insemination. She was also the President of the SIUC Equestrian team for four semesters.  Meredith has been riding, grooming, horse showing for fourteen years. She grew up riding hunter jumpers and moved on to eventing.  We at Oakwood are blessed to have such an experienced well trained barn manager!
